Newsela Adds Microsoft 365 Access

Newsela, a wonderful nonfiction reading app, has added Microsoft 365 access. Not every school has joined the Google bandwagon and it's nice to see educational resources offering multiple account options.

For those not familiar with Newsela, this service allows teachers to assign news articles to students with followup written responses or multiple choice quizzes. Teachers can select the reading level needed and Newsela automatically adjusts the article's vocabulary and sentence structure.

There are free and paid levels of use. Teachers can even select texts based on Common Core Reading Standards, grade level or subject area. By adding Office 365 access, younger students can join using their school account giving them a single sign on to remember.

To access the Microsoft Sign In, click "More Options" underneath the Google Sign In button.
